Witness modern recreations of some of the awe inspiriting demonstrations first performed by Michael Faraday in his 1848 Christmas Lectures – see water explode in your hand, soap bubbles turn into balls of flame and metals ignite! There'll be dozens of hands on activities for kids and families – identifying the hottest part of the Bunsen flame, making coloured fireballs and intricate wax formations. Family Fun Day activities are suitable for 5–14 year olds though everyone is welcome. Tickets costs £5 for adults and £3 for under 18s. For more information and to book tickets visit www.rigb.org
