The Industrial Lectureship recognised major contributions to, and innovations in, chemical and chemical-based industry. Awarded in alternate years, the award also recognised the commercial, technological and managerial aspects of the development and application of chemical discovery to industry, as well as the purely scientific. This award was discontinued in 2008.
The Lectureship was established through donations from the Groups and Regions of the Industry and Technology Forum, as well as a number of companies. In 2021, the purposes of this Trust were amended, and remaining monies were combined with other generous bequests and donations to become part of the RSC Recognition Fund.
