The Enzyme Chemistry Award (also known as the Charmian Medal) was sponsored by Lilly Research Centre, Ltd, and was awarded for the most meritorious studies on the structure or mode of action of enzyme systems. The award was discontinued in 2008.
The prize was established through a bequest from Edward Horton. In 2021, the purposes of this Trust were amended, and remaining monies were combined with other generous bequests and donations to become part of the RSC Recognition Fund.
