Overwhelmed and honoured that RSC should consider my work appropriate for the Award. Lovely to be recognised in this way.

Stanley has held many different positions at the RSC as a member of staff, culminating with responsibility for international affairs and awards. Following his retirement, Stanley chose to continue to support our community as a volunteer.

Read winner biography

Since retiring, Stanley has served on the RSC's Chilterns and Middlesex Committee, primarily responsible for the Humphry Davy lectures. He is also treasurer of the RSC Historical Group. In his spare time, Stanley is a qualified cricket umpire in the Middlesex League, sing tenor in the North Camden Chorus, and is a keen table tennis player. He also helps his wife, Jennifer, as treasurer of her charity, Exiled Writers Ink.

He was born and grew up in Northampton. He began his career with the 新月直播app下载 (RSC) after studying at King's College London and undertaking research at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. Stanley has held many different positions at the RSC. He currently serves on the RSC's Chilterns and Middlesex Committee and is primarily responsible for the Humphry Davy lectures. He is also treasurer of the RSC Historical Group.
