The Electrochemistry Group is one of our many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit our members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with our strategy and charter.
The Electrochemistry Group of the 新月直播app下载 represents and co-ordinates the interests of a very wide range of scientists involved with all aspects of electrochemistry.
Objectives
- To organise events
- To promote the involvement of postgraduate students in regional, national and international conferences
- To inform Group members and provide a mechanism for discussion
Meetings
The primary mission of the Electrochemistry Group is to provide a central focus for the development of basic, strategic and applied electrochemistry.
The group plays a central role in the organisation of the main UK national electrochemistry conference every year, the Electrochem Conference Series, which, since the first Electrochem '94 conference in Edinburgh, has established itself as a central forum for discussion and debate.
The Electrochemistry Group also financially supports regional electrochemistry meetings. The idea of such meetings is to allow graduates to give lectures on their PhD work whilst incurring no more costs than travel to and from a local venue.
How to Join
RSC members can join the Electrochemistry Group by updating their details in the “My communities and subscriptions” tab of the online RSC membership area. Please .
Awards
The Electrochemistry Group awards three medals and a PhD student award for outstanding achievements in electrochemical sciences:
Faraday Medal
This is awarded to an outstanding mid-career researcher from outside of the UK and Ireland.
Geoffrey Barker Medal
This medal is awarded to an electrochemist working in the UK or Ireland in recognition of their contributions to any field of electrochemistry.
Roger Parsons Medal
This award is presented to an independent early-career electrochemist working in the UK or Ireland in recognition of their contributions to any field of electrochemistry. These contributions should be recognized internationally and should strengthen the standing of UK and Irish electrochemistry.
Sheelagh Campbell Award
This award is presented to a PhD student who has not submitted their thesis by the award deadline studying in the UK or Ireland for excellence in research.
