The biennial Dalton Joint Interest Group meeting was established in 2012 and brings together researchers from across the breadth of inorganic chemistry. It is organised by the RSC's inorganic chemistry interest groups with support from Dalton Community Council.
The next meeting takes place in 2023.

Dalton Community Regional Meetings
The Dalton Community supports a small number of regional meetings in the UK and Ireland, in order to promote local networking and ensure that UK and Ireland members of the Dalton Community are able to access a meeting in their local region.
Dalton Community regional meetings are organised by a host institution within the region. Speakers include academics and industrialists from the host and 'local' institutions (within the region) and may also include RSC Prize and Award winners or other guest speakers.
Current regions are:
- Scotland (eg Glasgow, Aberdeen, St Andrews, Strathclyde, Edinburgh, Dundee, Heriot-Watt, Durham and Newcastle)
- South and West (eg Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton, Oxford)
- North (eg York, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Huddersfield, Hull, Liverpool)
- Ireland
The meeting organiser for each Dalton Regional Meeting should contact the Programme Manager as soon as possible, to notify them that you intend to organise a regional meeting. The Programme Manager will provide advice and guidelines on the support provided by the RSC and connect you with organisers of other regional meetings to allow the sharing of information and best practice.
To find out about forthcoming regional meetings, please visit the Dalton Community events page.
The RSC Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson Dalton Poster Symposium provides an opportunity for PhDs and postdoctoral researchers in inorganic chemistry to present their work to their peers and to senior researchers.
It is funded by the Wilkinson Charitable Foundation and the Dalton Division and offers generous prizes as well as the opportunity for early career researchers to build their presentation skills and professional networks.
Please visit the Dalton Community events page for more information on upcoming symposia.
The Meeting of Inorganic Chemists Recently Appointed (MICRA) is a biennial meeting which brings together researchers working across the field of inorganic chemistry. Attendees are expected to be at an early stage in their careers. This includes early career academics, independent research fellows and experienced postdoctoral researchers. All attendees are encouraged to give short presentations on their work in order to introduce themselves to the community and potentially inspire new collaborations. The meeting is a great opportunity to get to know the early career researchers across the UK working in inorganic chemistry.
To find out more about upcoming MICRA meetings please visit the Dalton Community events page.
