Congratulations to our Analytical Research Forum 2021 Prize Winners

On 15 and 16 June 2021 the Analytical Division hosted the Analytical Research Forum (ARF) online for the first time, showcasing early career researcher work alongside world-leading analytical scientists, providing networking opportunities and panel discussions.

Prizes were awarded for contributed talks, judged by the Scientific Organising Committee alongside a Participants Poster prize, voted for by delegates and poster prizes, judged by our invited speakers and members of the Analytical Division Council.

We spoke to our Prize Winners about their experience at the ARF.

Niamh O'Mahoney, University College Cork

For her poster entitled “Characterisation of Pharmaceutical Formulations using the novel technique Broadband Acoustic Resonance Dissolution Spectroscopy (BARDS).”

The 新月直播app下载 Analytical Research Forum 2021 was a fantastic event to participate in and attend. I am delighted my abstract was selected to present both a poster and a flash talk. The event was interactive and superbly ran.

"Though the event was online, it allowed for fostering partnerships and networking with colleagues in analytical chemistry via the interactive nature of the meeting rooms for posters. I am delighted to have been selected for the prize of Runner up poster prize at the ARF 2021. I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to present my research. Winning a prize was the perfect end to the event, as it marked the impact of my research and validated my skills as a presenter.”

Attending the Analytical Research Forum has been a highlight for me, seeing academia and industry partners coming together to celebrate science. As an Early Career Researcher, it was amazing to experience the breadth that chemistry covers and the diversity of analytical research - all from the comfort of my own home!

"Winning the first poster prize was a surreal feeling, as the quality of work presented was extremely high. I am very grateful for having the opportunity to communicate my research and network with individuals at all career stages within the analytical science community. This experience has definitely inspired me to continue my journey in science.”

Attending the Analytical Research Forum (ARF) was a real privilege to see some of the amazing work that is currently being carried out in the field of analytical chemistry. Being invited to speak at this conference was a great honour and being considered as one of the best speakers from the entire conference was beyond my expectations.

"There were so many amazing posters and talks throughout the 2 days and all deserve recognition. Winning the best speech runner up award is a massive confidence booster that will carry me through to my PhD defence coming towards the end of this year.”

For her talk on “Systematic study on time-dependent postmortem redistribution – Two analytical approaches involving LC-MS/MS and GC-HRMS”

Attending the ARF 2021 was super inspiring for me, hearing about such a broad variety of analytical topics.

"I was absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to share and most importantly discuss my current research on the very specialized topic of postmortem redistribution with experts from such diverse backgrounds. Of course I am deeply honored to be awarded the prize for the best talk, and I hope I could carry across some of my excitement for this niche topic to the audience. Thank you very much!"
