In this talk, I will present a chemists viewpoint on how to synthesis these nanomaterials. One of the pivotal strategies of creating unique nanostructures available to a chemist is the use of templates to control the nucleation, growth and alignment of the inorganic crystals. This template basically is predominantly organic in nature, has a self-aggregating property similar to amphiphiles, and serves as synthetic scaffold. Hence it provides direction and shape to a growing inorganic structure.
