KS3 Schools Lecture

6 December 2023 13:00-15:00, York, United Kingdom

Introduction
The "Colourful Chemistry" Lecture for KS3 is open to schools within the Central Yorkshire local section area.

How have chemists brought colour to our lives? Why do chemists use colour to help them understand the world around them? What makes fireworks look so pretty? The answers to these and other burning questions will be answered in this exciting lecture, delivered by Dr Annie Hodgson from the University of York. Prepare to be amazed as colours change before your eyes, but don’t be surprised by the odd flash or bang along the way.

Interest in attending should be notified to Dr Derek Wann (derek.wann@york.ac.uk) and formal registration will begin in late September. We reserve the right to limit the number of students from any school who can attend.

If the cost of transport is likely to be a factor in deciding not to attend, please get in touch with Derek Wann to discuss how the local section might assist with transport costs.
